Jacksonville Declares Heat Emergency Day with High Temperatures

The City of Jacksonville has declared August 10, 2024 as a Heat Emergency Day due to a Heat Advisory in Duval County for the third day in a row. The maximum heat index expected ranges between 108°F and 112°F. Cooling Centers are open at Jacksonville Public Library branches, City of Jacksonville Community Centers, and JaxParks Pools and Splash Pads during regular hours. Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is offering free transportation to these Cooling Centers on designated Heat Emergency days; riders need to inform the bus driver.
