Ocala Area Weather Advisory: Potential Strong Storms Ahead

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville, FL has issued a weather advisory for Ocala and surrounding areas. There is a chance of isolated strong storms this afternoon near the I-75 corridor in NE FL as the Atlantic sea breeze meets with the Gulf sea breeze. The main hazards from any storms that may develop include gusty winds up to 50 mph and localized flooding due to heavy downpours. The activity is expected to diminish around sunset. The timing for these potential storms is between 2 pm and 8 pm. Please stay indoors when thunderstorms approach, and exercise caution if you need to be outdoors during this time.
